The Challenge: holoride approached Schell Games to help them create a location-based game for the Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles that combines real-time physical feedback in a moving vehicle with a fully-immersive virtual reality experience.

The Solution: Using holoride's Elastic SDK, Schell Games created Cosmic Chase. As a professional driver completes laps around Porsche's Driver Development Track, riders are transported onto a spaceship to defend the universe against a hostile invasion by the alien swarm Cymex. Cosmic Chase is a single-player, backseat experience built upon real-time locational and navigational data pulled from the vehicle. The project pairs the vehicle's movements with the content in the game to create a seamless, fully-immersive journey with almost no latency. This location-based VR (LBVR) experience through outer space supports holoride's mission to revolutionize backseat entertainment.
