The Challenge: How can a mobile device help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) identify emotions on people’s faces and interact socially with a parent, caregiver, or therapist?
The Solution: Using a machine learning software plugin developed by Stanford and provided by the client, Cognoa, Schell Games helped create an augmented reality experience for children ages 3 – 8. The activity allows children to take on the role of an “Egg Hunter” and hunt for specific emotions on the faces of people around them.
The Result: Cognoa will conduct a pilot study to determine E.G.G. Quest’s usability, repeatability, and effectiveness with the target audience.
