New Escape-The-Room Style VR Game Challenges Players to Solve Missions and Outsmart Tricky Situations in Attempts to Make It Through Over-the-Top, Deadly Situations

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (December 5, 2016) — Got what it takes to be a secret agent? It’s time to find out. Renowned game developer Schell Games today announced that its award-winning, super spy VR game I Expect You To Die is now available for Oculus Touch.

I Expect You To Die is a virtual reality puzzle game where players take on the role of an elite secret agent as they attempt to survive deadly situations in immersive dangerous locales by completing missions using problem solving skills and wits. It’s a race to thwart the evil Dr. Zor without succumbing to traps and tricks that may cause an untimely demise. Players face four unique situations, including being confined inside their evil nemesis Dr. Zor’s car, trapped high on a window washing platform, deep underwater in a submarine and inside a booby-trapped hunting lodge – each delivering a treacherous and intense experience, along with plenty of humor and an occasional cigar, that only a super spy can handle. In addition, players will be treated to a special credits sequence at the beginning of the game, preparing them for the dangers that lie ahead. For those who accept the game’s challenge, the question is – “Will you survive?” The answer – “perhaps.” But we do expect you to DIE.

Adding to the game’s spy thriller theme, I Expect You To Die includes the voice talents of esteemed actor Anthony Daniels, known for playing C-3PO in the Star Wars™ films, among many other roles. In addition, Naomi Kyle, actor, producer, and current on-air host for IGN Entertainment, lends her voice to the game’s submarine level.

I Expect You To Die was designed from the ground up for VR to deliver an immersive secret agent meets escape-the-room experience that is intense, challenging, fun and leaves you determined to go back and try again and again,” said Jesse Schell, CEO of Schell Games. “With Oculus Touch, players are grabbing and manipulating objects first-hand as they think through problems and try to complete each step without making a fatal error. It’s like you put on the headset and find yourself inside your favorite British spy movie.”

I Expect You To Die was released as a demo on Oculus Rift developer kits in 2015, and quickly became a fan favorite among VR and video game media and players. Since then, the game has been honored with multiple industry awards for best gameplay, best VR experience and best game design. In addition to Oculus Touch, the game can also be played on the Oculus Rift using an Xbox One controller or a mouse. The game will retail on the Oculus Store for $24.99 USD.

I Expect You To Die will be available later this month in North America for PlayStation®VR.
