With Phasers Set to Fun, Orion Trail Aims to Take Kickstarter by Storm
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (February 3, 2015) – Today Schell Games released its latest game Orion Trial onto Kickstarter with hopes of raising $90,000 in a 37 day campaign.
Paying tribute to Oregon Trail and Star Trek alike, Orion Trail is a science fiction space adventure game where the player must rely on their wit, officers and ship to survive. In this single player game for Windows, Mac, and Linux, players act as the captain of their own ship and must make tough decisions that risk the safety and lives of their crew. With over 50 unique encounters, players embark on journeys that test their wisdom, luck and courage as they manage their resources and crew on an intergalactic space voyage. The game features fun pixel art, witty puns and an awesome soundtrack.
At all funding levels, backers will receive a copy of the game and their name in the credits. With levels ranging from $10 to $1,000, there are several opportunities for backers to become involved in the game-making process and leave their mark on Orion Trail forever.
Schell Games intends to use the Kickstarter funds primarily to complete development of the game. If fully funded, the game should be ready to launch in December 2015. Orion Trail was recently greenlit on Steam and will be released on this platform upon its completion. Until then, the company has made a playable prototype of the game available for download.
The Kickstarter campaign will run until Thursday, March 12 at 11:59 PM ET. For more information, visit the Orion Trail Kickstarter page.
